Head of state says impressed by wish with which Moldovans look for ways of involvement in Moldova

Chisinau, 14 May /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu, during his visit to Chicago, has participated in the Moldovan-American Convention, which has the slogan, Proud to Be from Moldova, this year. The head of state said that the Moldovans can make us proud, no matter whether they live at home or abroad, as they are diligent, courageous and care for their country, the presidential press service has reported.     

„I saw this courage in many of the Moldovans who live in the USA, who managed to start and develop their own businesses. Some of them extended the business in Moldova as well, creating jobs and opportunities for the citizens at home, for which I thank them,’’ the Moldovan president said.

At the same time, the head of state noted: ‘’I was impressed by the wish with which our people look for ways of involving at home, either in business or by backing projects in settlements or by organizing such events, which unite the Moldovans at home with the ones who live in the USA. Many of our people promote our culture, traditions and good image of Moldova in the United States and I awarded several distinctions on this occasion.’’   

Also, President Maia Sandu informed the fellow countrymen about the efforts of the Moldovan leadership to create conditions for a better life at home, to develop a  friendly business environment and clean the justice through combating the corruption in the system. ‘’These efforts will help us bring Europe home,’’ the head of state added.   

Maia Sandu on 12-13 May participated in the ninth edition of the Moldovan-American Convention, held in Chicago.
