Customs Service collected over 516 million lei on 10-14 May

Chisinau, May 15 /MOLDPRES/- On May 10-14, the Customs Service collected over 516.2 million lei (about 25.8 million euros) to the state budget.

During this period, private people introduced goods whose customs value exceeds the non-taxable limit, and payments amounting to over 15.3 million lei were collected, which represents 3% of the total amount. The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects, etc.

Last week, 10,437 customs declarations were completed, and the flow of means of transport was over 84 thousand crossings.

In terms of combating fraud, 42 violations of customs legislation were found and fines of over 135 thousand lei were applied.

Since the beginning of this year, the Customs Service has collected about 12.1 billion lei to the state budget, up by 10.6% compared to the same period last year.
