German Chancellor says EPC Summit confirmation that Moldova is not alone, enjoys Europe's support

Chisinau, 27 May /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova is not alone and enjoys Europe’s support. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has made statements to this effect and confirmed his presence at the Summit of the European Political Community (EPC Summit) due on 1 June, hosted by Moldova. The event will bring together 50 heads of state, prime ministers, European officials, who will discuss solutions to the most urgent problems of Europe, such as peace, security and energy resilience.    

In his message, the German official reiterated his support for Moldova, noting that the summit would bring together the great European family in Moldova. And the EPC member countries opt for peaceful cooperation, economic prosperity, observance of human rights and backing the democracy.  

„On 1 June, the European family will assemble in Moldova – a family which is united in the fight for a peaceful cooperation, for economic prosperity, for human rights and for democracy. We believe that the war no longer has room in Europe. We address those who suffer in the wake of the aggression and threats on behalf of Moscow. This is the strong message which the Summit of the European Political Community will convey. Therefore, Moldova enjoys our every support. That is why, Moldova is not alone,’’ Olaf Scholz said.   

Moldova will be host of the Summit of the European Political Community, due to be held on 1 June 2023, bringing together, for the first time ever, 50 presidents, prime ministers and high-ranking European officials. The summit will take place at the Mimi Castle from the Bulboaca village, central Anenii Noi district, placed some 35 km far from Chisinau.   

The European Political Community is a pan-European governmental forum, set up in 2022, following Russia’s invasion in Ukraine. It serves as a platform which brings together European leaders, in order to discuss and identify solutions to the most pressing problems of Europe.
