MPs voted on 74 normative acts last month

Chisinau, 2 Aug. /MOLDPRES/- MPs voted on 74 laws in July. 278 legislative initiatives were registered by late July.

According to the parliament's communication and public relations department, out of the total number of normative acts adopted, 60 are laws and 14 are decisions.

In July, the MPs ratified a lot of agreements that provide for the granting of financial support in various fields, including agriculture, education or ensuring energy security. On the other hand, several agreements concluded on the platform of the Commonwealth of Independent States have been denounced. Legislative initiatives meant to reform the justice sector have also been passed, including the draft law on external evaluation of prosecutors and judges.

Also, the National Media Development Program for 2023-2026 was approved, as well as amendments to the Code of Audiovisual Media Services of Moldova were passed.

The MPs also voted for setting up the Center for Strategic Communication and Combating Disinformation, as well as the National Agency on prevention and combating violence against women and domestic violence.

In the same period, legislative initiatives were also voted that provide that all consumers will be able to choose their gas supplier, that the portability tax will be cancelled, as well as the legislative initiative that contains measures to improve the energy performance of buildings. At the same time, the budgetary-fiscal policy for 2024 was adopted, the draft law which assumes that the refund of taxes and fees of economic agents from the autonomous unit will be made from the budget of the autonomous territorial unit, as well as the draft law which aims to strengthen the partnerships between youth organizations and public institutions.

The deputies also voted on extending the state of emergency.
