Alternative child care services to operate under new rules

Chisinau, 2 Aug. /MOLDPRES/- The government today approved the regulations on alternative care services for children up to three years old. The documents describe the way of organization and operation of nurseries established by the employer at the workplace, individualized child care services and family-type care services, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

Alternative child care services organized by the employer at the workplace will be accessible for the children of persons employed on the basis of the individual employment contract. In the case of nurseries created within educational institutions, they will be used by the children of people studying in that institution.

Individual childcare services will be provided by the childcare at the child's home or temporary residence, and alternative family care services will be provided at the childcare provider's home or temporary residence for up to five children. These types of services can be carried out under the entrepreneur's license.

When setting up the space intended for the three types of services, the requirements of the sanitary regulation for alternative child care services, approved by the same Government decision will be respected. It provides the sanitary rules for the organization and maintenance of the spaces for activities, sleep, food, sanitary group, the requirements for furniture and equipment, the medical and sanitary rules for carers and for children, etc.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection has also worked out the National Program on childcare services for children up to three years old for 2023-2026, aimed at creating quality childcare services and supporting parents in their educational role, giving them the opportunity to actively participate in the labor market.
