1,647 young people would be admitted to "Nicolae Testemițanu" State University of Medicine and Pharmacy

Chisinau, Aug. 3 /MOLDPRES/- A number of 1,647 young people would be admitted to "Nicolae Testemițanu" State University of Medicine and Pharmacy, 1,273 candidates (77.3%) participated in the contest under the baccalaureate diploma, 293 (17.8%) - under the diploma of professional studies, 47 candidates (2.9%) - on the basis of certificates of secondary education and 34 candidates (2%) - bachelor's degrees/higher education.

The head of the Admissions Commission, Rector Emil Ceban, said that the largest competition for the budget- funded places was registered in Dentistry (10 places) – 47.7 people per place, followed by the Physiokinetotherapy and Rehabilitation (5 places) where the competition was 14.2 candidates/place, in Pharmacy (10 places) – 9.1 candidates/place, in Nursing (10 places) – 2.8 candidates/place, in Optometry (5 places) – 2 ,6 candidates/place, in the Medicine specialty (440 places) the competition was 2.1 candidates/place, in Radiological Technology (10 places) – 1.6 candidates/place and Public Health (10 places) – 0,5 candidates/place.

USMF "Nicolae Testemițanu" this year offers Moldovan citizens 550 budget-funded places for higher undergraduate studies (cycle I) and integrated studies (cycle I and cycle II), up by 50 than last year. Also, according to the admission plan for 2023-2024, 628 places are offered with tuition fee: Medicine – 300, Dentistry – 118, Pharmacy – 80, Physiokinetotherapy and Rehabilitation – 50 places and 20 places for the Nursing, Radiological Technology and Public Health.

The highest demand for master's programs was recorded in Public Health Management and Human Nutrition. For higher master's studies, a total of 10 budget-funded places and 47 places on a contract basis are expected.

Submitting the original documents started on 2 August. Candidates must submit the original documents by August 4 inclusively to attend the final contest for admission to higher education in the academic year 2023-2024. Candidates who did not pass the intermediate admission test, but wish to participate in the final test, must also apply the original documents within the deadlines.

The presentation of the documents will be done in person, based on the original identity card (passport), or it can be carried out on behalf of the candidate by another person, under power of attorney. Failure to present the original documents within the deadline leads to the loss of the place obtained in the intermediate competition, as well as to the impossibility to participate in the final admission contest.

The final results will be announced on August 7, on the University's website.
