USMF "Nicolae Testemițanu" published results of final admission contest

Chisinau, Aug. 8 /MOLDPRES/- "Nicolae Testemițanu" State University of Medicine and Pharmacy has published on the institution's website the results of the final contest for admission to the bachelor's, integrated and master's degree programs.

Admissions Committee’s deputy secretary Vladislav Badan said that the total number of original documents was 20% higher this year, compared to the previous year. Out of the total number of 1,667 files, 1,266 were submitted in original, which allowed the filling of all state-funded places and most contract-based places.

"Even if there is a trend of young people migrating to study abroad, we still believe that medicine and pharmacy are fields that require young people to be present at home. Our university meets the demands and all challenges, we are always open to continued development and the main factor is that quality studies, high-performance studies are conducted at our university, which contributes to increasing the number of candidates who opt for USMF "Nicolae Testemițanu" and decide to study in the country", said Vladislav Badan.

The largest competition for the state-funded places was recorded in Dentistry (10 places) – 35.6 people per place, followed by the Physiokinetherapy and medical rehabilitation (5 places), where the competition was 9 candidates/place, in Pharmacy ( 10 places) – 5.9 candidates/place, in the Medicine specialty (440 places) the competition was 1.7 candidates/place, in General Nursing (10 places) – 1.6 candidates/place, in Optometry (5 places) – 1.4 candidates/place, in Radiological Technology (10 places) – 0.7 candidates/place and in Public Health (10 places) – 0.3 candidates/place.

The highest demand for master's degree programs was recorded in Public Health Management and Human Nutrition.

On August 8-11 period, at USMF "Nicolae Testemițanu" the additional admission session will be held for 51 places not covered in contract-based studies: eight in the Pharmacy integrated higher studies program and 43 places in the undergraduate programs - six places in Optometry, 19 in Public Health, five in General Nursing and 13 places in Radiological Technology.

The University's Admissions Committee announces the holding of the additional admissions session for higher master's studies (cycle II), where nine contract-based places remained unfilled: three in the Human Nutrition program and six in Public Mental Health.

This year, the state-funded admission plan for undergraduate and integrated studies has been increased to 500 places, up by 50 than last year, including 25 places for candidates from the country’s eastern districts. 678 places were provided on a contract basis. 57 places were offered for higher master's studies - 10 state-funded and 47 contract-based places.
