Moldovan president meets children and young people participating in DOR Program

Chisinau, 9 Aug. /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu today met the 100 children and young people who for ten days will get to know the Republic of Moldova more closely through DOR Diaspora. Origin. Returns Program, the presidential press service has reported.
"The children are curious to explore and learn about the culture of the country where they or their parents were born - 87 of the participants are settled with their families in 20 countries, on different continents," said Maia Sandu.
The President said that this year, after three years of online activities, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the DOR Program is held in person. The children will learn more about the country's history, the Romanian language and popular music, they will have cooking, craft and woodcarving workshops. They will also meet more personalities and go on trips.
"I urged the participants that during these days spent in the DOR Camp, they should discover the beautiful places in our country, enjoy the homely taste of traditional dishes, and get to know each other. I hope that they will have beautiful memories, so that they will want to come back as often as possible. Our hope is that one day, these children and young people will decide to build a future in the Republic of Moldova", the official said.
