Household appliances to be accompanied by labels with information on energy impact in Moldova

Chisinau, 6 September /MOLDPRES/ - The products will be accompanied by labels containing more information on their energy efficiency and impact. The members of the parliamentary commission for economy, budget and finances today considered a draft law to this effect.  

Thus, the labels of the products with energy impact will contain information on their energy efficiency, consumption of energy or other resources, as well as other additional information. This will allow citizens choosing more efficient products for reducing the consumption of energy.  

The State Inspectorate for the Supervision of Non-Food Products and Consumers’ Protection will be the administrative authority in charge of the observance by the providers and traders of the legal provisions which regard the labelling of products. If the market supervision authority finds irregularities, it has right to impose sanctions to economic agents, in line with the provisions of the Contravention Code.
