Chisinau, 7 September /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu and President of Romania’s Senate Nicolae Ciuca have discussed the Chisinau-Bucharest cooperation and the European agenda at the Palace of Parliament, the presidential press service has reported.
The Moldovan head of state noted that Romania was the most important advocate of Moldova in the discussions with the European institutions and other member states for the country’s accession to the European Union.
„We discussed the things which we had managed to do since moment of getting the status of country candidate one year ago and the importance of the getting of a positive decision of the EU Council on the starting of the negotiations as soon as possible. I appreciated the support of more political parties for our European integration way, as well as the very good cooperation between the parliaments on both banks of the Prut river. I thanked for the constant and unconditional support on behalf of Romania in the last two years – an assistance which helped us cope with the crises through which we go and to become more resilient,’’ President Maia Sandu added.
