As many as 226 grants to be provided for doctoral studies in 2023-2024 academic year

Chisinau, 13 September /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 226 grants for higher education and scientific doctoral studies, cycle III, will be financed from the state budget for the 2023-2024 academic year. At the same time, the scholarships for doctoral students will be increased. These provisions are contained in the plan on admission to the higher doctoral studies, approved by the cabinet today.      

The doctoral grants are provides for such sectors as: Environmental sciences, Engineering sciences and technologies, Medical sciences, Agricultural sciences, Social and economic sciences, Humanistic sciences.     

Also, the plan on admission to higher doctoral studies, cycle III, provides for six places with financing from the state budget for foreign citizens, according to the international treaties Moldova is party to.   

The providing of doctoral grants is made based on a competition of scientific projects between the doctoral schools of the higher education institutions. The doctoral grant includes the individual scholarship and the costs for the syllabus of advanced education and for the syllabus of research or artistic creation.   

As number of 236 students were admitted to higher doctoral studies with financing from the state budget in the 2022-2023 academic year.
