Moldovan parliament's commission discusses combating corruption, money laundering

Chisinau, 13 September /MOLDPRES/ - Priorities and goals in the fields of national security, defence and public order today were set forth at a meeting of the parliamentary commission for national security, defence and public order.   

Attending the meeting were representatives of more institutions in charge of this sector: Interior Ministry (MAI), Intelligence and Security Service (SIS), Customs Service, National Patrol Inspectorate, National Authority of Penitentiaries, etc.    

The rapporteurs referred to the revising of the normative framework, national legislation’s adjusting to the European Union’s one and implementation of certain measures aimed at ensuring the security and public order. In the context, more legislative amendments are planned, as well as the elaboration of draft normative acts.    

„The commission for national security, defence and public order organizes such discussions in the beginning of each session, Based on draft laws due to be submitted by institutions, the Commission will approve the activity plan for this session,’’ the head of the aforementioned parliament’s commission, Lilian Carp, said.  

Carp informed that, in the contest of the duty of parliamentary control, on the next period, the members of the parliamentary commission for national security, defence and public order will pay visits to certain institutions in charge of this sector.
