Moldova's civil servants to take over Swedish experience under Sprint Program

Chisinau, 19 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- On October 14-22, 20 civil servants of the central public authorities selected on a competitive basis to participate in the first edition of Sprint program will go on a study visit to Sweden. The opportunities of the program and the organizational details of the training were discussed today, in an event with the participation of State Secretary of the State Chancellery Ana Calinici, director-general of the National Democratic Institute, Martin Angeby, and main specialist of Folke Bernadotte Academy in Stockholm Cecilia Sternemo, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

The sides will consider viable models of public services and the main issues on the functioning of the existing public service in the Republic of Moldova. They will be involved in study visits to relevant institutions in Sweden, they will study the public service functioning model in the host country and they will collect the necessary information for the development of research projects on the aspects of reforming the public service in Moldova.

Ana Calinici said that the opportunities of the Sprint program will contribute to strengthening the capacities of employees of state institutions in achieving the ambitious reform agenda and the integration of our country into the European Union.

"The Sprint program was launched to improve the public administration system and contribute to the process of achieving the European agenda. I'm glad to see young people eager for change. We want you to feel part of the historic moment of the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union and to successfully implement the knowledge acquired during the study. Joining the EU means improving the quality of processes within public institutions", said Calinici.

The beneficiaries of the Sprint program, present at the event, talked about their expectations and got acquainted with the objectives of the agenda of the study visit to Sweden.

The Sprint program was launched by the authorities, with the support of the National Democratic Institute of Moldova. The training will be carried out by the Folke Bernadotte Academy in Stockholm. Graduates of the program will establish a network through which they will continue to exchange experience, visions and best practices.
