Chisinau, 20 September /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova will denounce another four agreements concluded on the platform of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). The parliament’s commission for foreign policy and European integration today considered the draft laws which imply this.

Thus, the commission proposes the denunciation of the agreement on the coordination of the relations between the CIS member states in the electric energy sector, of the agreement on ensuring the work, in parallel, of the electric energy systems of the CIS member countries and of the agreement on the transit of energy and electric power of the CIS member countries.

According to the Energy Ministry, the provisions of the agreement on the coordination of the relations between the CIS member states in the electric energy sector are irrelevant and non-applicable for Moldova.

Decision-makers also suggest the denunciation of the agreement on the ensuring of the work, in parallel, of the electric energy systems of the CIS member states, as the provisions of the document can no longer be enforced from the technical viewpoint.

The denunciation of the agreement on the transit of energy and electric power of the CIS member countries reaffirms Moldova’s intention to deepen the cooperation relations and the integration into the European energy markets.

Also at the today’s meeting, the members of the parliament’s commission for foreign policy and European integration approved the report for the consultative notification on the denunciation of the agreement on the defence of the interests of the state in the rouble’s area, if some of the states introduce their national currencies. This initiative belongs to the Finance Ministry and the National Bank of Moldova, which reasons that this document is obsolete, no longer meets the current realities and is impossible to be enforced.
