Moldovan rescuers received ambulance via EU Civil Protection Mechanism

Chisinau, 28 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations /IGSU/ has received a Volkswagen Transporter ambulance from Austria via the EU Civil Protection Mechanism worth 10 thousand euros.

According to IGSU, the donation was provided as a result of Moldova's request for international assistance to manage the increased migration flow.

Through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, Moldova has previously benefited from aid to manage the flow of refugees from EU member countries worth about 334,296,321 lei. Aid was in the form of beds, tents, covers, mattresses, blankets, personal hygiene items, heaters for tents, as well as ambulances.

In early 2023, through the additional instrument for the protection of citizens in Europe (rescUE), integrated into the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, Moldova has got 36 generators for the Ministry of Health, which were distributed in district and municipal hospitals amounting to PLN 12,654,850.56. At the same time, 20 generators were received, of which 15 were for the Ministry of Health, and 10 generators for the IGP worth about PLN 9,762,123.12.
