Foreign Ministry updated security situation in Israel

Chisinau, Oct. 13 /MOLDPRES/- The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Israel in under alert even on weekends, providing both emergency and regular consular services. In accordance with the decision of the Commission for Emergency Situations, during the state of war in Israel, it was decided to issue free travel documents for our fellow citizens of the State of Israel, who are unable to pay during the state of war in Israel, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MAEIE) press service has reported.

From October 7 until now, 516 citizens of the Republic of Moldova returned home, and 253 Moldovan citizens left for Tel Aviv. "The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Tel Aviv maintains permanent contact with our citizens in the Gaza Strip and works, together with partner states, including the USA, Egypt, Romania and Ukraine, to find feasible options for their evacuation from the area. In addition, a consular official has been deployed to Egypt to provide assistance to our citizens in the Gaza Strip," the quoted source said.

Ben Gurion International Airport remains open. "We urge all those who wish to leave the territory of Israel to use the available regular flights to Chisinau or other nearby destinations. We also ask Moldovan citizens present on the territory of Israel to register using this form: https://shorturl.at/tvCR9. So far, 328 citizens have registered", the ministry said.
