Chisinau city hall prepared cultural events on Dedication Day

Chisinau, Oct. 14 /MOLDPRES/- Events dedicated to Dedication Day will start today with the laying of flowers at the monument to ruler Stephen the Great. Holy Liturgy will be officiated at the Birth of God Metropolitan Cathedral.

According to the municipality, traditionally, on October 14, local artists will perform on the stage in the center of the capital, and the special guest on the feast day will be the Romanian band Holograf.

At the same time, the area with traditional dishes and native wines will be on the Stefan cel Mare Blvd, in the perimeter of the streets Vasile Alecsandri and Metropolitan Gavriil Banulescu-Bodoni.

The municipality has also prepared events in different sectors of the city, outdoors, as well as presentations of the capital, culture and beautiful attractions in the city.

On 14 October, the dedication day is marked in more settlements of Moldova. According to the Orthodox Church, the Miracle of the Protection of the Blessed Virgin took place in the Saint Mary of Blachernae Church in Constantinople during the Emperor Leo VI the Wise (886-912). The Mother of God appeared during an all-night-long vigil, surrounded by saints, praying to God for all the mankind.
