Moldovan parliament's standing bureau approves agenda of plenary meeting

Chisinau, 18 October /MOLDPRES/ - The standing bureau at a today’s meeting approved the agenda of the 19 October parliament meeting.  

According to the parliament’s communication and public relations department, the MPs will consider two draft laws for the approximation of the national legislation to the EU legislation in the field of public procurements and on the use of data from the register with the names of passengers. At the same time, in the first reading, the lawmakers are to discuss the draft Land Code and the legislative initiatives which envisage the sharpening of the punishments for the drivers who drive drunk and trigger traffic accidents.  

The parliament is also to ratify three agreements on financing, so that the beneficiaries from Moldova can access grants provided by the European Commission within the Interreg Programme for projects meant for the cross-border areas. The MPs are also to denounce five agreements signed on the platform of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). The agenda of the plenary meetings for the next period also includes the hearing of reports on the state assistance provided in Moldova for the 2020 and 2021 years.     

Also at the today’s meeting, the standing bureau approved a supplement to the parliament’s plenary meeting from this week. The bureau included for consideration two EU-related drafts – on procurements in the sectors of energy, water, transports and postal services, as well as the consolidation of the aspects concerning the financial market’s infrastructure. At the same time, the lawmakers will discuss, in the second reading, the rectification of the state budget, the budget of the state social insurances and the one of the mandatory health insurances accounts for this year. Also in the second reading, the parliament will consider the denunciation of three agreements with CIS. At the plenary meeting due on 19 October, the parliament is to approve the appointment of Ana Revenco to the office of director of the Centre for Strategic Communication and Combating of Misinformation and the ceasing for Vitalie Miron of the capacity of member of the independent commission for evaluation of the integrity of the candidates for the position of member in the bodies of self-management of judges and prosecutors. Also, the MPs will consider a motion of censure on the work of Moldova’s government, filed by the lawmakers of the faction of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists.     

On 19 October, the parliament’s plenary meeting will start at 10:00.
