233 Moldovan citizens came back from Israel yesterday

Chisinau, Oct. 19 /MOLDPRES/- On 18 October, 233 Moldovan citizens returned to Moldova through the regular flights Tel-Aviv - Chisinau, and 48 citizens left.

The head of Moldovan diplomacy, Nicu Popescu, said he had a phone conversation last night with Eli Cohen, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel.

"I expressed our country's solidarity with Israel on the brutal terrorist attacks by Hamas. I noted that Israel has the right to defend itself against these brutal attacks, and Moldova has designated Hamas as a terrorist organization since 2019. The Republic of Moldova makes a clear and firm call for the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages taken by Hamas", Popescu said.

He said he discussed with his counterpart the evacuation of the 50 Moldovan citizens from the Gaza Strip.
