MPs approved rectification of state budget

Chisinau, Oct. 20 /MOLDPRES/- Parliament rectified the state budget for this year in the second reading at the plenary session on Thursday.

The savings identified were redirected to economic and social programs of impact, as well as to the implementation of new measures, intended for public sector employees.

The largest allocations of additional financial resources concern one-off payments and salary increases for which 846.9 million lei will be allocated. The salaries of doctors and medical assistants in state institutions are to be increased by 15%. Teachers in all educational institutions will receive a one-off payment of 5,000 lei, and non-teaching staff - 3,000 lei.

The police, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will benefit from a one-off payment of 5,000 lei. At the same time, the salaries of around 1,700 cultural workers will increase by an average of 25%.

In addition, the following financial resources will be allocated: 100 million lei for road repair, 300 million lei for village and city development projects and the European Village Program, as well as an additional 100 million lei for agriculture. Another 352 million lei will be allocated to cover expenses for electricity and heat consumed by schools, kindergartens, hospitals and other state institutions.

Given the changes, the state budget for 2023 is reduced in terms of revenues and expenditures by 497.9 million lei and will constitute, after rectification, 65.7 billion lei in revenues and 84.1 billion lei in expenditures. The budget deficit will remain unchanged, constituting 18.3 billion lei or 5.9% of the Gross Domestic Product.
