Japan to provide Moldova with 1.9 million euro-grant

Chisinau, Oct. 20 /MOLDPRES/- Government of Japan will provide Moldova with non-refundable financial support of 1.9 million euros. The members of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy and European Integration approved today a report to initiate negotiations.

The money will be used for the implementation of the farmers project. It is needed to support small and medium-sized farmers, who are affected by the increase in the price of seed material, fertilizers, pesticides, as well as low prices for the finished product.

The money will reduce the burden on small and medium-sized farmers, affected by the consequences of the war in Ukraine, by offering cheap financial solutions to the purchase of fertilizers.

The grant will be offered until March 31, 2024, but the period may be extended.
