Moldovan voters can demand voting at place of stay during general local elections as of 22 October

Chisinau, 22 October /MOLDPRES/ - Citizens can submit applications on the voting at the place of their stay during the general local polls due on 5 November 2023.   

According to the Central Electoral Commission, the voter who, for health reasons of other well-grounded reasons, cannot come to the precincts of the polling station, can ask the electoral bureau for the voting with mobile ballot box. The applications are made in written form starting from two weeks ahead of the voting day and till 14:00 of the day before the elections. On the voting day, the applications are approved by the electoral bureau till 14:00, only upon the presentation of a medical certificate.  

Also, the people who cannot submit applications on the voting at the place of stay by themselves have right to do this through a member of their family or to demand for this the assistance of the social assistant from the mayoralty. If, because of the physical deficiency, disease or other well-grounded reasons, the voter cannot personally sign the application on the voting at the place of stay, he/she can personally submit the application orally at the headquarters of the polling station. If the application cannot be submitted personally in oral form at the headquarters of the polling station, it can be submitted by phone.    

On the day of elections, the head of the electoral bureau of the polling station nominates at least two members of the bureau, who move with a mobile ballot box and materials needed for voting to the place of stay of the elector, for the latter to vote.
