Moldovan PM pays working visit to Brussels

Chisinau, Oct. 24 /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Dorin Recean pays a working visit to Brussels on 24-26 October, to promote our country's European integration agenda, attend Global Gateway Forum and strengthen cooperation with NATO.

"On October 24-26, Recean is leading a government delegation on an official visit to Brussels. He will also participate in the Global Gateway Forum, hosted by President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen", government's spokesperson Daniel Vodă said.

The visit includes an agenda of meetings with heads of the European institutions, including Josep Borrell Fontelles, vice-president, EU high representative for foreign affairs and security policy; Maroš Šefčovič, Vice-President for European Green Deal, Interinstitutional Relations and Foresight; Vera Jourová, European Commission Vice-President for Values and Transparency; European Commissioner for Economy Paolo Gentiloni; European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson; European Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders; European Commissioner for transport Adina Vălean; European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi; European Commissioner for Environment, Oceans and Fisheries Virginijus Sinkevičius and European Commissioner for Climate Action Wopke Hoekstra.

"The visit's agenda aims at strengthening relations between our country and the European Union, evaluating progress in implementing reforms, as well as discussing opportunities for deepening cooperation in key areas on economic development, agriculture, infrastructure, energy and environment. It is another concrete step to promote the direction of the European integration of the Republic of Moldova", Daniel Vodă said.

Recean will have a meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, to discuss defense and resilience programs, including interoperability with NATO and the organization's member countries in the context of efforts to modernize the National Army. 

This is the fourth visit to a European capital by the head of the Executive, following those to Bucharest, Kyiv and Berlin.
