Moldovan government approves agreement on Moldova's participation in EU's Civil Protection Mechanism

Chisinau, 1 November /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today approved the draft law on the ratification of the agreement between Moldova and the European Union on the country’s participation in the EU’s Civil Protection Mechanism.

The Interior Ministry (MAI) said that the Mission would contribute to the strengthening of the resilience of Moldova’s security sector in the field of management of crises and hybrid threats. Consistently, the goal of the agreement is to improve the cyber security sector and counteract the actions of manipulating the information and interferences from abroad.

The European Union’s Civil Protection Mechanism is the strongest international network of cooperation in the field of prevention, preparation and response to the disaster and crises’ management.

The agreement between Moldova and the European Union on the country’s participation in the EU Civil Protection Mechanism was signed in Chisinau on 29 September this year.
