Runoff election to be held in Balti

Chisinau, Nov. 6 /MOLDPRES/- CEC preliminary data show that Our Party candidate Alexandr Petkov and independent candidate Arina Corșicova will compete for Balti mayor in the runoff election.
According to the preliminary results of the CEC, Alexandr Petkov won 22.6% of the votes, and 21.5% - Arina Corșicova.
14 candidates ran for Balti mayor.
The electoral legislation stipulates that the candidate for the position of mayor is considered elected if he received more than half of the votes.
If no candidate receives more than half of the votes, within two weeks runoff election is organized with two candidates who received the highest number of votes in the first round of voting.
