PAS got over 240 mayoral mandates throughout country from first round

Chisinau, Nov. 6 /MOLDPRES/- Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) won more than 240 mayoral mandates across the country as a result of the first round of general local elections, according to preliminary data. The figures were presented today by PAS deputy head Andrei Spînu.

He said this is "the largest number of mayors after the first round". "PAS won the elections in the country - we are in first place in 19 districts. We have got a good score for Chisinau Municipal Council. We will have a strong faction, 20 municipal councilors, which will fight for a European city", Andrei Spînu said.

According to him, "probably the most important conclusion of these elections is the fact that the pro-European message has won throughout the country."

On Sunday, general local elections were held in the Republic of Moldova.
