Moldovan president kicks off this autumn's afforestation campaign

Chisinau, Nov. 8 /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu announces the start of the afforestation campaign this autumn, from November 11, as part of the National Afforestation Program, the presidential press service has reported.

The head of state mentions that in total, 7 thousand hectares of forest will be planted and regenerated this year. This spring, saplings have already been planted and forest regenerated on 3 thousand hectares of land from the forest fund, and in the coming weeks saplings will be planted on 4 thousand hectares, which belong to 168 town halls throughout the country.

"I urge you all to participate in the greening action of the National Afforestation Program. Together, we can be part of the forest generation to have a greener country and a healthier environment for us and our children," said Maia Sandu.
