Moldova's delegation asks Tiraspol to cease blocking work of military observers in Security Zone

Chisinau, 9 November /MOLDPRES/ - The participants in a today’s meeting of the Joint Control Commission, held in Bender, heard the weekly report of the Joint Military Command on the situation in the Security Zone, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.

The participants in the meeting said that, on 7 November, a resident from the Cosnita village, following works in his household, had discovered an explosive object and immediately informed the police. Subsequently, National Army’s sappers examined the object, which proved to be a bomb of 500 kg from the times of the World War II and carried it in safe conditions to the shooting range from Bulboaca, in order to be destroyed according to the procedures.

They also found out that, this time too, the information from the report of the Joint Military Command was incomplete, as Tiraspol’s representatives kept the destructive practice to hinder the movement of military observers for documenting the actions of consolidation of the infrastructure at the Transnistrian structures’ posts.

Moldova’s Delegation drew the attention of the JCC participants to the continuing of the blocking as to the good work of the peacekeeping mechanism at Dniester and demanded the ceasing of these abuses.

The OSCE Mission sent to the JCC delegations a note, thereby confirming that its representatives had noticed two so-called Transnistrian ‘’border guards’’ who were ‘’patrolling’’ the sector with a private vehicle between the Gasca and Farladeni villages on 26 October 2023.

Thus, the problem of the illegal posts remains up-to-date on the agenda of Moldova’s in the Joint Control Commission.
