Chisinau, Dec. 5 /MOLDPRES/- National Agency for Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence will be set up in Moldova. The regulation regarding its organization and operation was published in the Official Journal today.

The document sees the mission, areas of activity, duties and organization of the Agency's activity. The institution will be responsible for implementing, monitoring and evaluating policies to prevent and combat violence against women and domestic violence, coordinating inter-institutional activity and facilitating the cooperation of relevant public administration authorities with civil society.

The agency will have the status of a central administrative authority subordinate to the Government and will include 22 staff units, of which six management functions, 15 execution functions and one technical service function.

The decision on the organization and operation of the new Agency will enter into force on January 1, 2024.
