Moldova to join Agreement on Register of damage caused by Russian Federation's aggression against Ukraine

Chisinau, Dec. 6 /MOLDPRES/- Moldova will join the partially extended agreement on the Register of damage caused by the Russian Federation's aggression against Ukraine, adopted by the Resolution of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.

A draft law on the matter was considered at today's meeting of the parliamentary committee on foreign policy and European integration.

According to the informative note of the draft law, Moldova's accession to the Agreement emphasizes once more the importance of continuing to support Ukraine, as well as the solidarity shown by the Republic of Moldova in the context of the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

The Register is a platform for recording information on evidence and complaints about the damage, losses or injuries caused by the Russian Federation in Ukraine, starting from February 24, 2022. The Register will receive and process information on complaints and evidence, which will be categorized and organized. 

The Register will be established as an intergovernmental cooperation institution, acting within the institutional framework of the Council of Europe, residence in The Hague.
