Several vocational education institutions to benefit from additional funding of 18 million lei

Chisinau, Dec. 12 /MOLDPRES/- Several vocational technical institutions in our country will benefit from complementary financing from the state budget worth 18 million lei (900 thousand euros). The resources will be used to improve study and living conditions in the dormitories.
State Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Research (MEC) Galina Rusu said today that the volume of financial resources allocated in this regard has increased in recent years. The distributed money contributes to the improvement of study and living conditions for young people who choose to continue their studies in vocational technical education, they being used for the modernization of study blocks, dormitories, gyms and canteens, equipping training laboratories with modern technology.
When distributing financial resources for complementary financing, the number of students in the institution and the degree of use of the buildings are taken into account. Another condition is that at least 85% of the admission plan for the current year of studies with budget funding is completed.
According to the National Statistics Bureau, at the beginning of the current academic year, 88 vocational technical education institutions were operating in our country, including 13 centers of excellence, 37 colleges and 38 professional schools. The total number of students was 46.1 thousand people.
