Customs Service collected over 771 million lei last week

Chisinau, 18 Dec. /MOLDPRES/- On December 11 -17, the Customs Service collected over 771.5 million lei (about 38.5 million euros) to the state budget.

During this period, private people introduced goods whose customs value exceeded the non-taxable limit, and payments totaling over 49.5 million lei were collected, which represents 6.4% of the total amount. The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects etc.

Also, 13,099 customs declarations were completed, and the flow of means of transport was 56,331 crossings. The most transited customs posts remain Leușeni and Sculeni, with 17,577 and 12,301 crossings, respectively.

In the fight against fraud, 46 violations of customs legislation were found and fines of over 235 thousand lei were applied.

Since the beginning of this year, the Customs Service has collected about 33.3 billion lei to the state budget, up by 4.2% compared to the same period last year.
