Moldovan authorities urge citizens to refrain from using fireworks during winter holidays

Chisinau, Dec. 27 /MOLDPRES/- Authorities are urging citizens to refrain from using fireworks during the winter holidays. The decision is aimed at protecting public health, the safety of pets, birds, as well as reducing pollutants in the environment. Government's spokesperson Daniel Vodă made the statements after the cabinet meeting.

Daniel Vodă pointed out that fireworks are dangerous not only for people, but also for the environment.

At the same time, chemicals and fine particles released into the air during the detonation of fireworks can contribute to air pollution, affecting its quality and having a negative impact on the respiratory health of the population.

Under these conditions, the authorities encourage citizens to find safer and more environmentally friendly alternative ways to celebrate the new year.
