Moldovan parliament approves national programme on integrity and anticorruption for 2024-2028

Chisinau, 28 December /MOLDPRES/ - The lawmakers today adopted the national programme on integrity and anticorruption for 2024-2028 and the action plan on its implementation.  

The programme was worked out by a group of lawmakers, in cooperation with the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA). The programme which is presently in force expires in the end of the 2023 year and the elaboration and the approval of an updated programme is one of the commitments taken for the implementation of the Moldova-European Union Association Agreement.  

The document’s goal is to consolidate the national system of prevention and combating of corruption through continuing the development of an integrity culture. The implementation of the national programme on integrity and anticorruption for 2024-2028 is aimed at diminishing the corruption phenomenon and boosting the degree of integrity in the public and private sectors.  

Under the document, four general goals were established: the optimization of the integrity standards in the public sector; optimization of the measures of prevention and combating of corruption and the ensuring of the inevitability of the sanctioning of the corruption acts; cultivation of the integrity and diminishing the corruption acts in the private sector, including in the entities with majority or completely state owned capital; cultivation of intolerance to the corruption acts, as well as the encouraging of the denunciation of the corruption acts and of illegal practices. The objectives were correlated with the directions of policies established in the European Moldova 2030 national development strategy.
