Chisinau, Dec. 28 /MOLDPRES/- Young people's role in the European integration of Moldova, as well as the opportunities to boost the cooperation of civil society with public authorities were the issues discussed at a meeting between Prime Minister Dorin Recean and members of Caroma Nord Public Association, students of Alecu Russo University of Bălți and rector of the institution, the government's communication department has reported.

The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of the active involvement of young people in the country's political life and the promotion of democratic values in all regions of Moldova. Also, he urged young people to examine employment opportunities in state institutions or business development opportunities offered by the Entrepreneurship Development Organization (ODA).

"State institutions are open to the young generation. I encourage all young people to get involved in the social life of the country and, together with the authorities to participate in the modernization and integration in the European Union", he said.

The discussions focused on the reforms undertaken by the Executive in the educational field, which also include the increase of annual scholarships for students of the pedagogical profile, as well as the actions taken to modernize the universities in the country. The prime minister urged the young people to get involved in the research programs.

"It's an unexplored field, but very rewarding. I have noticed, from the experience of other countries, that when there is collaboration between industry, academia and youth, large companies bring their research and development centers, as happened, for example, in Cluj, Romania. It is also time for Balti to develop research capabilities", Recean said.
