Moldovan General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations urge people not to launch fire-works during winter holidays

Chisinau, 30 December /MOLDPRES/ - The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) urges people not to launch fire-works and pyrotechnical materials during winter holidays. According to specialists, these materials, improperly launched nearby apartment blocks, buildings and dwelling areas, can lead to the outburst of fires, as well as to injuries for those who use them.
IGSU said the use of pyrotechnical materials can be made by specialists with the ensuring of the conditions necessary. The articles should be used strictly according to the instructions. Before starting the launch of the firer-works, users are asked to make sure that the pyrotechnical product does not have visible damages, hits and fissures. If the product does not work, it must be restarted. The fire-works can be launched only in safe places and at a distance of at least 20 metres from any building, vehicle, tree, transport lines, inflammable substances, as well as viewers.
To prevent fires in dwellings, their launch from a window or balcony should be avoided. Moreover, to prevent injuries, arsons, the directing of pyrotechnical to people and animals is banned.
Also, the bearing of pyrotechnical materials in pockets, as well as their holding in hands is not recommended. Adults are asked to strictly monitor their children and not to allow them play with pyrotechnical materials.
