Over 2,600 drivers fined in Moldova on last two days

Chisinau, 30 December /MOLDPRES/ - Over 2,600 drivers have been fined on the last two days and 18 ones were caught driving drunk.

According to the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), six drivers did not have driver’s licence, 1,287 exceeded the speed limit, 395 drivers failed to give priority to pedestrians and 163 were driving without their safety belt coupled.

On the same period, 100 vehicles were carried to special car park.

According to the quoted source, during ten days, law-enforcers carried out in Moldova the Bus and Taxi operations and verified the transport units meant for the transport of passengers. Policemen carried out 171 special controls and 914 verifications of transport units. They documented over 870 infringements of the road traffic rules committed by drivers.
