Moldovan government approves regulation on recognition, equalizing of scientific titles, scientific and didactic titles got abroad

Chisinau, 10 January /MOLDPRES/ - The recognition and the equalizing of the scientific titles, scientific and didactic titles get abroad will be made based on a new regulation, approved by the cabinet, at a proposal by the Education and Research Ministry, the government’s communication department has reported.     

The document’s goal is to facilitate the academic and professional mobilities, in order to ensure the free movement of the citizens in the European area, in line with Moldova’s commitments as to the Moldova-EU Association Agreement and the international treaties the country is party to.     

,,The new regulation will ensure the compliance of the national normative framework in the field of recognition of the education and qualifications got abroad with the present international norms in the sector of reference, as well as the fulfillment of Moldova’s commitments in the context of the integration of the national education system into the European Education Area. Through facilitating the process of recognizing the qualifications, we are set including to attract qualified people from abroad and future potential students to higher education institutions from Moldova,’’ the state secretary, Adriana Cazacu, said.  

The document approved is meant to back the learning during the entire life, through the regulation of the procedure of recognition and validation of results of the earlier learning, to periodically correlate and update the national instruments enforced in the process of recognition with the ones enforced at the European level/internationally.    

At the same time, the normative act regulates the qualifications of the refugees and displaced people, decentralizes the recognition of the scientific and didactic titles through delegating this power to the higher education institutions accredited, as well as the recognition of the qualifications got at the joint/cross-border programmes, organized jointly by accredited higher education institutions of Moldova and from abroad.
