Income tax revenues from people who lease real estate increased by 37.5%

Chisinau, 11 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- Income tax revenues from private people who lease real estate increased by 37.5% in 2023 and amount to 57.6 million lei (2.88 million euros), compared to the previous year.

According to the data of the State Fiscal Service (SFS), in 2023, 24,763 real estate leasing contracts were registered, or up by 16.6% than in 2022.

Following the voluntary compliance, 2,453 persons were identified who lease real estate in January-December 2023.

Under the legislation, citizens who rent real estate are obliged to register the lease contracts with the SFS and pay a tax of 7% of the income.
