Chisinau, 17 January /MOLDPRES/ - The strengthening of Moldova’s  commercial and economic relations with the European Union member countries, as well as the country’s European integration way have been the subjects tackled at a meeting between Prime Minister Dorin Recean and his European counterparts, at the World Economic Forum in Davos, the government’s communication department reported.

During discussions with Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte, the Moldovan PM thanked his Dutch counterpart for the support provided in the decision on starting the negotiations on Moldova’s accession to EU. Recean noted that the authorities continued the reforms underway in the justice sector and the economic development of Moldova.

The officials also discussed the economic relations between the two countries, which have a potential of growth, especially in the fields of IT, transport and production of renewable energy.

„The Netherlands during years has been an important partner of Moldova on our European integration way. We rely, in continuation, on the support of the Dutch authorities and we are open to boost the bilateral cooperation in the commercial and economic sector between our countries,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.

At a meeting with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, the Moldovan PM discussed possibilities of taking over Croatia’s experience in the process of accession to the European Union. The sides appreciated the fostering of the political dialogue between the two countries.

The officials made a retrospective of the joint projects and exchanged opinions on possibilities of boosting the Moldovan-Croatian dialogue in fields of common interest.

Also today, Prime Minister Dorin Recean had a meeting with his counterpart from Liechtenstein Daniel Risch. The officials appreciated the fostering of the dialogue between the two countries, especially following the signing, in Vaduz last year, of the Free Trade Agreement with the European Free Trade Association (EFTA).

Also, the Moldovan PM thanked Prime Minister Daniel Risch for the  assistance worth 11 million euros in the education sector, provided by the government of Liechtenstein through development programmes.

In a discussion with Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia & Herzegovina Borjana Krišto, Dorin Recean referred to possibilities of consolidation of the bilateral political dialogue, in order to explore common interests, especially as regards the European perspective. The officials also agreed on the common agenda for speeding up the process of negotiation of the agreements in the social, customs and transports  sectors, in the context of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations, marked this year.

The works of the World Economic Forum in Davos are held on 15-19 January.
