Tenders on construction of big renewable energy capacities to be held in Moldova during April-July 2024

Chisinau, 22 January /MOLDPRES/ - The Energy Ministry has published the calendar of the tenders for the construction of big capacities of renewable energy. Under the calendar, the tenders are planned to be started on 9 April and the bids will be received during at least three months.    

The launch, for the first time ever, of tenders for power stations with fixed price will allow building big wind and photovoltaic parks, reducing the dependence on the import of energy, de-carbonizing the economy and creating new jobs. They will also contribute to the fulfillment of Moldova’s commitments, in order to reach, by 2030, a share of renewable energy of 27 per cent of the overall consumption of energy, the Energy Ministry said.    

A total capacity of 165 MW was allocated for big capacities of renewable energy, distributed according to technologies – 105 MW for wind installations and 60 MW for photovoltaic stations.  

More documents are to be approved for launching the tenders on the construction of big renewable energy capacities, including amendments to the Regulation on the holding of tenders of giving the status of big eligible producer, nomination of the tender commission, publication of the tender documentation and its consultation with the sides interested.
