Six police officers detained for passive corruption

Chisinau, 23 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- Six employees of the National Public Security Inspectorate (INSP) have been detained in cases involving receiving money from drivers for not documenting traffic violations.
According to the CNA, the law enforcement officers were detained this morning following 23 searches carried out by the CNA, the Internal Protection and Anticorruption Service (SPIA) of MAI and Balti Prosecutor's Office. The file in which they are suspected was started for passive corruption, and later 24 other criminal cases were initiated on the same facts.
Today, CNA officers together with SPIA employees and prosecutors conducted 23 searches in the service and personal cars of INSP employees, at the headquarters of Soroca and Florești Patrol Service, as well as at the homes of the people involved in committing the crimes.
The persons were detained for 72 hours.
