Chisinau, Feb. 1 /MOLDPRES/- High School Library in Coșcalia village, Căușeni district was supplemented with books collected as part of the Library from under fir tree campaign. The books were brought by Prime Minister Dorin Recean for the 176 students from primary and secondary classes, the government's communication department has reported.

Recean urged the children to discover the writers of Romanian and universal literature and to use every opportunity to learn new things. "Soon, over 5,500 books collected as part of the Library from under fir tree campaign will reach the libraries in the country, with the support of colleagues from the Moldovan Post Office," he said.

The director of the Gymnasium, Galina Popescu, appreciated the government's contribution and mentioned that the most active readers of the library are children from the primary classes. The institution named after Victor Babeș, as a result of the partnership relations with the Victor Babeș association of Romania will promote reading through a campaign at the local level, which will start on February 7.

Coșcalia village is one of the rural localities where not only the local public administration, but also the citizens are actively involved in the development of the locality. Water and sewerage, street lighting, children's rest areas and organized waste collection are just some of the achievements that residents can enjoy, implemented with government support, including through the European Village Program.
