Customs duties charged for over 11,400 transport means with application of 70-per cent exemption in Moldova

Chisinau, 1 February /MOLDPRES/ - Private people have asked for the placing in customs regime of import of 11,406 transport means, with the payment of the excise duty of 30 per cent from the quota set for the last year, on the period 1 July 2023 – 31 January 2024. As a result, over 398 million lei (about 16.4 million euros) was collected in the national budget.     

According to the Customs Service, at the request of private people, who introduced transport means in customs regime of temporary admission, which destroyed or sold for spare parts, customs duties were charged for 1,681 transport means, with the payment of the one-off payment of 15,000 lei for each transport means.   

Under the legal provisions, the transport means with the exploitation term of 7 years and more, which were declared through action on the period 1 July 2017 – 31 December 2022 inclusively, which were on the territory of Moldova at least 90 days cumulatively, could be placed in customs regime of import till 31 January 2024, with the payment of the excise duty of 30 per cent.
