Moldovan PM says institutions in charge of combating corruption must act as efficiently as possible, for all citizens' benefit

Chisinau 27 February /MOLDPRES/ - The visions as to the anticorruption policies, legislative changes from the last years and the need of coordinating the actions have been some of the subjects discussed at the second meeting of the Anticorruption Platform, held at the Justice Ministry’s headquarters. Prime Minister Dorin Recean stressed that the institutions in charge of combating corruption must cooperate and act as efficiently as possible, for the benefit of all Moldovan citizens.
The PM noted that, on the country’s way of the European integration, the fighting of corruption and the ensuring of the independence and integrity of the justice sector was a basic priority.
„The corruption is a direct threat to our democracy and national security. We see this also through the activity of the corrupt groups, which try to cease our efforts to reform the justice and call to account those who stole the country. Our task is to consolidate the efforts, so that the law is enforced equally for everybody,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.
The Anticorruption Platform is a consultative body in the anticorruption field and of those related to corruption, set up under the Justice Ministry. The Platform was created for the optimization of the process of coordination of the policies in the sector, active involvement of the authorities and institutions in the settlement of problems, as well as to facilitate the inter-institutional communication and cooperation.
