Comrat District Hospital endowed with equipment for destruction of medical waste

Chisinau, 27 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Isaac Gurfinkel District Hospital from Comrat, south Moldova Gagauz autonomy, today was endowed with equipment for the destruction of medical waste. The project was financed by the government of Japan within the Kusanone programme.
According to the Embassy of Japan in Chisinau, equipment for the destruction of the medical waste for the Isaac Gurfinkel District Hospital from Comrat was purchased with the grant worth 89,393 dollars. The project is meant for strengthening the capacities of management of the medical waste and eliminating the sources of polluting the environment.
Japanese Ambassador Yamada Yoichiro said that ‘’the new system of treating the medical waste will contribute to enhancing the safety, reducing the costs and protecting the environment.’’
The Kusanone programme of grants for human security was launched in Moldova in 2008. So far, Japan has provided non-refundable financing worth 7.3 million dollars for 88 projects in the fields of education, health and public utilities.
