Moldovan foreign affairs minister has meetings with counterparts from Turkey, Luxembourg, Montenegro, Azerbaijan at Antalya Diplomacy Forum

Antalya, 3 March /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime minister, Foreign Affairs Minister Mihai Popsoi, on the second day of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, had a string of productive meetings with the foreign affairs ministers from Turkey, Luxembourg, Montenegro and Azerbaijan.     

The discussions with Turkish Foreign Affairs Minister Hakan Fidan marked a significant advancement in the earlier started negotiations at the Munich Security Conference on perspectives of deepening the Moldovan-Turkish cooperation.

„We exchanged opinions on the situation in the region and I invited my counterpart to visit Moldova. We agreed on turning to good account the economic relations between Moldova and Turkey,’’ Mihai Popsoi said.  

During the dialogue with Foreign Affairs Minister of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg Xavier Bettel, the emphasis was put on the assessment of the present stage of the bilateral relations and on the identification of opportunities of cooperation in fields of common interest.   

„We discussed also aspects related to the reforms implemented in Moldova, in the context of its aspirations of accession to the European Union,’’ the Moldovan official noted.  

The discussions with Foreign Affairs Minister of Montenegro Filip Ivanović were focused on the needs to boost the commercial and economic relations between the two countries.  

„We referred also to possibilities of enhancing the cooperation in the tourism sector, as Montenegro is an attractive tourist destination.’’

The meeting with Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov was an occasion to evaluate the present stage and perspectives of developing the relations between Moldova and Azerbaijan.   

„I said that Moldova is interested in the cooperation with the Azerbaijani side in the energy, trade, economic and investment sectors. I thanked for the invitation to visit Azerbaijan,’’ Minister Popsoi said.   

These meetings represent important steps in the strengthening of Moldova’s foreign relations and emphasize the country’s continuous commitment for the international cooperation and bilateral development.
