National archaeological register to be supplemented with new monuments

Chisinau, March 28. /MOLDPRES/- Over 11 thousand archaeological sites in our country will be included in the National Archaeological Register and will benefit from special protection. Parliament voted on a bill today.
The project approving the National Archaeological Register was set up by the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the National Archaeological Agency, under information of the Register of State-protected monuments of Moldova, studies published in specialized literature and the manuscript of the Repertory of Archaeological Monuments.
Register's use will result in the record of archaeological sites, their delimitation and protection. Moreover, the information in this document will be taken into account in the development of land development plans and urban plans of localities, in order to prevent the destruction of archaeological sites.
