Chisinau, April 8 /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu today attended the inauguration of a new intensive care unit and the primary stroke care centre at Hincesti district hospital.

"At every meeting, in every corner of the country, people address access to quality medical services. I am glad every time the reconstruction and equipping works in the country's hospitals are completed. Today I participated together with the medical team of the Hincesti District Hospital in the inauguration of a new intensive care unit and the primary stroke care centre, equipped with the most modern medical equipment", Maia Sandu said.

The head of state said that the new centre will also cover stroke cases in Leova, Basarabeasca and Cimislia districts, being the sixth functional centre out of thirteen that will cover the whole country.

"More lives saved and fewer negative consequences for patients - this will be the result of the investments we are making. In the case of Hincesti District Hospital, the Ministry of Health has invested more than 44 million lei in the last two years alone. High professionalism, high-performance technologies and empathy - these are the foundations on which we are rebuilding the medical system. We are building European hospitals because people's health is a priority", the head of state also said.
