Chisinau, April 9 /MOLDPRES/- A Memorandum of Understanding was signed at a trilateral meeting of heads of the foreign affairs committees of the parliaments of the Republic of Greece, Romania and Moldova.

The event, held in Athens, was attended by Deputy Speaker Doina Gherman, head of the parliamentary committee on foreign policy and European integration Ina Coșeru and chairwoman of the Group of Friends of the Hellenic Republic Larisa Novac.

"The Memorandum will provide the basis for the implementation of several European cooperation programmes between national parliaments in cooperation with international experts, in which key sectors where Moldova needs support will be identified in order to create programmes specific to these needs," said Gherman.

The Moldovan Parliament delegation had a meeting with First Vice-President of the Greek Parliament and Chair of the European Affairs Committee Ioannis Plakiotakis.

In Athens, the delegation also held talks with members of the Friendship Group of the Greek Parliament and Moldovan citizens residing in Greece.
